The 3rd Annual Siler City Aiport Open House was this past Saturday. The skies were not cooperative early in the morning. About mid-day, the clouds lifted enough for some flying activities.
Our local EAA Chapter 1114 once again volunteered to provide the "Young Eagles" flights free of charge to all kids 7-17 years old. After the rainy/cloudy weather broke, they started signing up the kids (parental approval required, of course).
Here's local pilot Eddie Liles getting a few kids ready to take a ride around Siler City.
After their rides, the kids come back to receive a certificate commemorating their flight. Smiles all around!
We had neighbor Barney come over with his "Barney's Famous Hot Dog" truck. This time he also had a Black Bean Veggie Burger which was heavenly. Don't hear that phrase much for vendor food, do ya???
Some smart folks brought their own chair!
More folks enjoying the day around airplanes. Good fun!!
