While we waited for an inspection to be completed by the local mechanic in New Ulm, we did a little exploring. We had most of a day, so we found a local state park.
The Cottonwood River runs right thru the park - a lovely, fast flowing river. I was surprised how fast the water was moving since the terrain is relatively flat.
Flat, except for a few nice little hills right along the riverbank!! Lovely pathway.
Beautiful spring flowers on the trail!
We saw signs for "Swimming Beach". We assumed it was a roped off area at the river. But what we found was interesting.
Obviously, it's not full of water yet, but they apparently pump this huge, rubber lined area full of water in the spring! Neat way to make a huge swimming pool! You can see the lifeguard stand - the big boxes at the center must be pump covers that they remove since they had handles on them.
Beautiful sky and farmland!
The airport was literally in the middle of a cornfield!
Cool water towers.
Due to strong surface winds, we decided to until the next morning to head home just to be safe!!
