Western Trip 2015 North Rim of the Grand Canyon

They apparently like to label a hillside for each city.....here is the "K" for Kanab - in the backdrop of our rental house.

And a town on the way to the Grand Canyon - Fredonia, Ariz.  I guess it keeps you from getting lost....

The rental house was centrally located to all three of the parks we planned to visit - Bryce Canyon, the Grand Canyon and Zion.

Just a little over an hour drive in the rental SUV to Bryce and the Grand Canyon.  An even shorter drive to Zion.

Beautiful views of the north rim of the Grand Canyon.  A little hazy day, but wonderful temperature.

Beautiful roadside views - the aspens just starting to turn golden.

More beautiful views - no narration needed!

A  popular spot with the "window" - Angel's Landing.

Dick out on a ledge - the dropoff's were amazing and mostly completely unprotected.

Another food photo.  We had a  very pleasant lunch at the National Park Service Lodge.  Usually, those venues are overpriced and not all that great.   But, we all had great meals - I'm including this here because it's another vegan sandwich - a turkey bacon Ruben.  It was delicious!!

We stopped for a nice shady hike.

Carolyn and Cecil.

Duane on the trail.

Looking out into the canyon from the trail.

And more beautiful roadside scenery on the way out of the park!  A lovely day!
