The Airport is Finally Re-opened

After delays due to some of the wettest weather on record during September and October, the Siler City Airport is officially open for business!

The engineer, contractors  and I spent a couple of hours walking the perimeter of the runway looking for items that need to be addressed.

Lots of last minute cleanup.

The yellow "X's" had to be removed before the airport could be officially open.

Dreary day - almost ready.

And finally, the engineer gave the go-ahead.   Within just a few minutes, this Cessna departed.

First takeoff on the nice, smooth runway!
