We decided to try to stop drinking diet sodas. It seemed like I was drinking them one after the other....more like a habit than for thirst. Too, too many. There are all kinds of discussions about the artificial sweeteners and their effects on blood sugar and the nervous system. None good....
So, I simply quit buying them for the fridge at home. And I refuse to get them out of the machines at work. Cold turkey.
Here is what I drank at work yesterday. Coffee and water. Never fear - they were bottles I rinsed and filled at home with tap water (the water at the airport tastes like rusty nails!)
And, when we want a little fizz, we're drinking seltzer water.

You're good! I limit myself to one diet drink per day and the coffee is a must-have! The rest is water, and maybe one beer!
I hate diet drinks...when I drink a 'pop' (ha! I love that word)...or a 'soda' or a 'coke' - which would either be a Mtn Dew or a Dr. Pepper and never an actual Coke...I drink the real thing with all 12 spoonfuls of sugar...
...talk about blood sugar levels...
...and I thought it was funny that you left the botttle of window cleaner on the counter with everything that you drank...
Good luck with your abstinence...
Love,
T
Good for you Karen! I wish I could do that... But I need the caffeine - plus diet drinks just taste so nice & refreshing! And then of course there's the issue of forgetting water bottles and all...
But I'm trying to train myself to drink more water, especially at restaurants where they charge you $2 for a cup of soda!
And I was thinking the same thing about the bottle of Windex! ;D
