Painting over the kid's "height marks"

We've been doing some "spring cleaning"....mostly cleaning up the windows, washing mini-blinds, touching-up paint, etc. It has been literally years since we've done much of that. I've been painting the baseboards and moldings all around the house. Amazing how many marks and scuffs are there! (Not to mention dust/dirt/etc.)

Now I'm all the way back to the boys' old bedroom doors - and I have a dilemma. As many people do, we marked their heights regularly as they were growing up on their door-jams. I want to refresh all the paint - but I really hate to cover this up. So, I've taken photos of each to save - and I'm working up the courage to apply the paint!!

Oh No - don't paint over that - we've left the Man-Cub's height marks in every house or apartment we've lived in - someone else has painted over them I'm sure - and I do have pictures...

Love,

Also, some people replace the boards and keep the marked ones. I of course didn't do either. Shame.E

I agree with affectioknit!

I have a freind who allowed her kids to write or draw on the walls, but only in the closets and they were never painted over. The kids were in their 30's and they sold the house...........complete with closet artwork!

I guess I'll go out on a limb and be different....

I say embrace change, girl, and take lots of pictures! Then put a fabulous new coat of paint over what used to be so you can look forward with excitement to what's ahead. ;)
