So this is a weird photo!!!

It's all about the dog:

Long story, happy ending....

It all started on Saturday - we were at the boat in Oriental, so we were no help!!

Robert had come home to sort out his "pile of junk" that he deposited in the hangar for the upcoming fall session at State. (We had threatened to throw it out if he didn't come decide what he wanted to keep).

He had the hangar open and Princess, the remaining Queen of the basement DOG, was "hanging" in the hangar with him.

Richard had left a fishing pole laying on the floor - apparently with a glob of chicken-liver attached to a big hook from a cat-fishing trip earlier in the week....

Princess, being a dog, apparently thought this was a nice little tidbit...swallowed it hook, line and sinker...well, OK, there wasn't a sinker....she was caught - and none too happy about it!

Robert and a couple of the neighbors got her calmed down - cut the line and couldn't see the hook - just the line disappearing down her throat and some blood...ugh...

So, Robert ends up taking Princess Saturday evening to the NC State Vet clinic in Raleigh. Our regular vet that was on call said that was probably the best option....
They sedated her and removed the hook, patched her up and sent them on their way - $172 poorer....not a bad deal, I don't think!!

The first weird photo is just how I've figured out how to get Princess to take the antibiotic pills....because her throat is sore, she's REALLY unhappy about the traditional "poke the pill down their throat method". But two little pieces of hot-dog stuffed with blue pills do the trick, two times a day!!!

Photos from our boating weekend:

There was a "regatta" going on in Oriental. We had read about it, but didn't really want to spend 5 or 6 hours on Saturday going around in circles in 95 degrees!

The boats were pretty to look at anyway!

I have to include this photo - I love the big, colorful spinnaker sails that they use in light winds...we don't have one for our boat...maybe someday.....

YAY for Princess - I'm so glad she's OK - silly dog hooks are for fishes...

Love the boat pics too.

See you in a couple,

Love,

T

Hurrah for Robert for taking care of Princess. Sailing boats are so pretty! E
