OK, then - we're back to Taipei for another adventurous day! Walking to the subway, we passed this interesting construction site. They are trenching down into the pavement - and they have to have somewhere to put the dirt. This is how they "dispose" of it.... they put it in a great big "shopping bag".....
And then take it away. Not sure why they don't just put the dirt in a dump truck....
Today's wandering was to include a trip to the "Holiday Jade Market" - open only on the weekends....to get to it, you have to walk thru the "Holiday Flower Market" - basically just a huge area filled with different individual flower/plant vendors....
They sure do like their coleus!!

And bunnies again for some reason.....pets or dinner??????
Beautiful! The plants were in amazing condition - not a single droopy one in the whole bunch!
Finally made it to the jade market!
Obviously each table was an individual craftsman's work....
And here is my prize!!!
That accomplished, it was off next to the Maokong Gondola on the outskirts of town....
After a short queue to be able to ride the "Crystal Cabin"...we loaded into our gondola for the 3 mile long ride into the "tea country"....
Off we go!
See what I mean by "Crystal Cabin"??? This is looking straight down thru some very thick plexiglass!! It's a little un-nerving!

There were pretty tiger-lilies planted in the rows in-between. Not sure why...maybe just because someone likes lilies!

We picked a restaurant - just one that had a pretty view....
They gave us the English printed menu....look close at some of the items. Someone must have translated for them that wasn't truly English-fluent! I ordered the "Fired Brook Shrimp"....
To the side of the restaurant was a Asian pear tree...thought that was cool since I've gotten those in the grocery stores at home! Must be just the right climate because the fruit was beautiful!
Our dishes were both great. My "fired" brook shrimp were just whole little fresh water shrimp, deep fried with no batter, just their shells. The shells were paper thin and you just eat them just like you see them here, tails, heads, just a crunchy little bite each. Very good!

And a banana tree on the side of the road as we walked back to the gondola for our ride back to the entrance....the best $2US each I think we've spent so far!

Another awesome touristy day...gorgeous views...gorgeous earrings too...yucky food again...and you could have had 'fired' tofu instead...
